The two-day seminar, due to start on Sunday (January 19), will see Tokyo 2020 representatives - including figures from the Japanese Olympic and Paralympic Committees, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Japan Sport Association, Japan Sport Council, National Government and National Federations - presenting their Paralympic vision and Games bid commitments.

Meanwhile, IPC officials will take part in a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic venue tour before briefing attendees on the background and structure of the Paralympic Movement and discussing key objectives.

A brand and communications introduction will also be presented, and there will be an overview of the Paralympic sports, and an introduction to inclusion and legacy opportunities, as well as information on key requirements and timelines for the Games.

"Following Tokyo 2020's success in winning the Games last September, this seminar acts as the starting gun to preparations for the Paralympic Games that will be staged in the city in six years' time," Parsons, who also serves on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission for Tokyo 2020, said.

"In 2020, Tokyo will become the first city to stage the Paralympic Games for a second time and, having seen what they presented in their Bid Book, Tokyo 2020 has the potential to be the best Games ever.

"This seminar is the first action of a long-term comprehensive Knowledge Management programme that is now available from the IPC for Paralympic Games organisers."

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will be held from August 25 to September 6, 2020.
