The entry deadline has been extended for this year's IBSA World Games in Seoul ©IBSAThe entry deadline for this year's International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) World Games in Seoul has been extended for a second time.

All IBSA member nations wishing to take part in the Games, due to take place in the South Korean capital between May 8 to 18, now have until Friday (March 13) to get their entries in.

The World Games represent a major step on the road to next year's Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

This year's event is fifth edition of the quadrennial event, first held in Madrid in 1998.

Following the inaugural edition in the Spanish capital, other editions of the Games were held in Quebec in 2003, São Paulo in 2007 and Antalya in 2011.

This could be the biggest Games as around 1,000 blind and partially sighted athletes are due to compete across 10 disciplines.

Athletics, swimming, judo, goalball, blind football, partially sighted football, ten-pin bowling, showdown, powerlifting and chess will all be a part of the 10-day event.

All questions regarding entries or accreditation should be addressed to [email protected].
