Lee Joon-ha has been appointed vice-president of Games operations at the Pyeongchang 2018 Organising CommitteePyeongchang 2018 has announced Lee Joon-ha as vice-president of operations for the Winter Olympics and Paralympics as preparations for the Games continue. 

Lee will assist newly-elected President Cho Yang-ho in his duties within the Organising Committee.

He will also have a hand in marketing, sports, National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee services and media operations.

Lee is a former secretary general of the Korea Professional Football League, having served from 2008 to 2011.

He also served as vice-president of Hyundai Development Company from 2006 to 2008.

Following the announcement, Pyeongchang 2018 released a statement on the new appointment.

"His experience in sports administration and operations, as well as marketing expertise, would play a vital role in delivering a successful 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang," the statement read.

The 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang are due take place between February 9 and 25.
