The International Inspiration programme is a sports legacy initiative that aims to enrich the lives of 12 million children across the world through sport.

It is part of London 2012's goal to touch and improve the lives of youngsters worldwide, connecting them to the Olympic Games.

The initiative will give children opportunities to participate in sport and physical education across the country, with a particular focus on the most marginalised in society.

It will also promote Ugandan culture, and represents the first time that an international legacy scheme of this type has been designed, having already been implemented in nations such as Zambia.

During his time in Uganda, Prince Edward also laid a wreath in memory of dozens of football fans who were killed during a terrorist attack whilst watching the 2010 World Cup.

The programme is partnered with the Youth Sport Trust, the English Premier League, British Olympic and Paralympic Associations and the British government.
