london_2012_shop_stansted_30-08-11August 31 - London 2012 have opened their latest shop at London Stansted Airport with Olympic mascot Wenlock, Paralympic mascot Mandeville and London 2012 head of licensing Simon Lilley all on hand to perform the honours and cut the ceremonial ribbon.

The latest in the chain of London 2012 Shops has launched new product ranges and gives a wide range of international and domestic travellers the opportunity to stock up on souvenirs as they pass through the terminal.

"This latest shop opening offers an increased opportunity for London 2012 to connect to UK travellers and international visitors, offering them a great chance to take home a piece of the Games," said Lilley.

"The range of products on offer is huge and the diversity really means there is something for everyone - from pocket-money toys to collectables."

London Stansted Airport, which is located in Essex, is the third-busiest airport in the United Kingdom and the third-largest airport serving the London area after Heathrow and Gatwick.

It is regularly used by private companies - such as the Harrods terminal - which is opposite the main terminal building and handles private jets and some state visits.

"We are delighted to welcome the new London 2012 shop to Stansted Airport," said Martin Lyall, operations director at London Stansted Airport.

"It provides travellers with a great opportunity to share in the excitement which the London 2012 Games will generate."

The shop sells items including clothing, pin badges, coins, key rings, stationary, cushions and of course the London 2012 mascots.
