There are 15 events taking place in the shooting discipline, which will be taking place at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich from July 28 to August 6.

The shotgun range is designed to provide layouts for trap, skeet and double trap events, with a 26 metre high green net placed 80 metres from the shooting posts.

The rifle and pistol competition hall, which will host 10 and 50 metre events, the 25 metre hall and the finals hall are also being constructed using innovative techniques.

ISSF President Olegario Vazquez Raña said that the locations, which will be 20 minutes from the Olympic Village in Stratford, "will maximise the presence of spectators, and will turn in favour of our shooters".

The venue will be able to host 4,000 spectators, and ISSF secretary general Franz Schreiber said: "We have received a very good report, and we have been traveling to London to check the area.

"We are enthusiasts about the location, in the heart of the 2012 Olympic Venues.

"We are now positively looking forward to the delivery of the venues.

"As far as we know, the construction of the venues is in time."

A "London Prepares" test World Cup will also be taking place next year from April 18 to 28 next year, with all 15 Olympic shooting events being conducted on the Games layouts.
