The Premier League club were named by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) as the preferred bidder for the Olympic Stadium on December 5 last year and the pair have been in talks since then over a deal for the £429 million ($691 million/€528 million) venue.

Negotiations with the Legacy Company have included talks on West Ham's share of the costs of converting the London 2012 venue.

Retractable seating is set to be installed for West Ham matches but conversion costs are set to be around £160 million ($260 million/€200 million) and talks have seen the Legacy Company ask the Premier League club to contribute a significant amount to the works.

But an agreement now looks to have been reached with Mayor of London and Legacy Company chairman Boris Johnson said to make the announcement in London tomorrow.

Johnson said earlier this month that there have been "positive talks" while West Ham co-owner David Gold said a s deal was "close", with the Premier League club looking to move into the venue for the 2016-2017 football season.


West Ham will also have been boosted by Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn revealing this week that he will stop his pursuit of an Olympic Stadium ground share with them and move his League One side elsewhere should he lose a judicial review into the bidding process.

The Olympic Stadium will stage the three-day British Athletics London Anniversary Games in July in what will be the first event at the venue since the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

There are also still hopes that the Olympic Stadium will host matches at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England while it is down to host the World Athletics Championships and Paralympic World Athletics Championships in 2017.
