October 10 - Superleague champions Team Bath will be looking to defend their title when the new season starts in JanuaryMembers of the Team Bath netball squad, including double Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Pamela Cookey, visited the offices of sponsors Carter Jonas to mark the firm's role as official property partner of the Superleague champions.

Carter Jonas became backers of the five-time Superleague champions during the 2013 season, and the sponsorship deal will see the company's logo displayed prominently on the team's playing kit and training tops throughout their forthcoming campaign.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to support the hugely talented Team Bath netball squad," said partner and head of Carter Jonas' Bath office Philip Marshall.

"Their successes are impressive and their structure supports all levels from grass roots upwards.

"We are fortunate to have this exciting sport represented in Bath at such a high level and accessible to all within the outstanding facilities at the University of Bath."

Team Bath claimed their fifth Superleague title from eight campaigns, in May this year with a 62-56 win over Celtic Dragons at the grand final in Worcester.

"It was great to have the opportunity to meet Carter Jonas staff and visit their office," said the team's head coach Jess Thirlby.

"We're excited to have Carter Jonas as one of our backers and we're extremely grateful for their continuing support.

"We're proud of the association with Carter Jonas and we're looking forward to further developing our partnership as we move towards what we hope will be a successful 2014 Superleague campaign."

Joining Thirlby and Cookey were England players Stacey Francis, Serena Guthrie and Mia Ritchie, fresh from their recent 3-0 series whitewash over South Africa, which included a 49-38 win in the opening fixture at the University of Bath.

"It was lovely to meet the Carter Jonas staff and to thank them for their support," said Cookey.

"We're delighted that Team Bath have Carter Jonas behind us going into the new Superleague season."

The 2014 Superleague season is due to get underway in late January next year.

Last month the University of Bath was officially unveiled as one of three Intensive Netball Training Centres (INTC) for England Netball in a move designed to provide a high quality training environment for England's top players, providing regular coached training and supervised strength and conditioning, as well as on-site physiotherapy, medical and performance lifestyle services.

The other INTCs are located at Brunel University and in Manchester and form part of the governing body's overall aim of seeing the national side become world champions by 2019.
