Covering all the Finals and Awarding Ceremonies, the LIVE BLOG starts today and includes the Opening Ceremony and will run through to the Closing Ceremony on Sunday.

Both men and women will compete in Sport Sambo and men in Combat Sambo and there are 27 gold medals to be won.

FIAS President Vasily Shestakov thanked the Serbian Sambo Federation for their willingness to host the 2020 World Sambo Championships when it was moved from Turkmenistan due to the coronavirus crisis.

Due to current COVID-19 protocols, the tournament at the SPENS arena in the city on the banks of the Danube River will be held without spectators
