Sir Dave_Richards_26_FebJanuary 31 - Four more speakers, including Sir Dave Richards (pictured), have been confirmed for the International Sport Security Conference (ISSC) taking place on March 14 and 15 in Doha.


Joining Sir Dave, the chairman of the Premier League, are International Olympic Committee Culture and Olympic Education commission member Professor Franco Ascani (pictured below right with Mike Tyson), South Africa's trade collective director of policy and advocacy Liepollo Pheko and Shaun McCarthy, the director of research and knowledge gathering at the International Centre of Sport Security (ICCS).

Sir Dave will take part in a panel discussion titled "New Frontiers: Rewards and Challenges to Growing a Sporting Brand in New Markets", which considers how sporting brands can move into emerging markets.

Ascani and Pheko will be part of "The Good of the Game" panel focusing on maximising the social benefits of hosting major sporting events.

McCarthy will deliver a keynote address on how security investment can bring economic and social benefits, drawing on research from the ICSS.

ICSS President Mohammed Hanzab said: "The International Sport Security Conference provides an important platform for sharing information and exploring best practice, as well as addressing the most pressing issues in sport today.

"We are delighted that Sir Dave Richards, Professor Franco Ascani and Liepollo Pheko will be joining our distinguished line-up of speakers and delegates.

"Shaun McCarthy's latest research is also an important development in the Centre's ongoing work to help international organisers stage safer major sporting events and enhance security and safety in the world of sport."

The quartet join a host of other speakers which include Qatar 2022 general secretary Hassan Al-Thawadi and Interpol President Khoo Boon Hui.
