Following some media reports this week, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has provided further information regarding a group of 23 Chinese swimmers who tested positive for Trimetazidine (TMZ) in 2021.

Nearly half the Chinese Swimming Team was able to compete in the Tokyo Games despite previously testing positive for a banned substance, the NY Times reported on Saturday. Athletes allegedly benefited from a cover-up by local officials and lack of intervention from the international governing body.

The American Boxing Confederation has reiterated its support for the International Boxing Association at its Board of Directors meeting. The organisation has drafted a letter signed by its leaders. The letter has been sent to the presidents of the National Federations of the Americas.

In a growing tide of international backlash, the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa has expressed its disapproval of World Athletics' initiative to offer prize money to gold medallists in Paris 2024. A move it described as "repugnant to the fundamental principles of the Olympic Movement."

The Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) says many of its members believe the decision to award athletics gold medals to Paris 2024 "undermines the values of Olympism and the uniqueness of the Games".

Another day of top European taekwon-do came to an end in Lublin with Poland winning 11 medals (six gold) in the junior category and Norway in the senior category. This took place on the eve of the All Europe Taekwon-do Federation Congress (AETF).
