The AJP Tour UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024 - Gi concluded on Sunday at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, with Commando Group taking first place.

Known for its highly technical tournaments all around the world, the AJP has reached another milestone in its journey to popularise Jiu-Jitsu and provide competitors with the opportunity to make a living from the sport. 

The International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) European Jiu-Jitsu Championships were held in Paris from 20 to 27 January. Fratres Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu won the team competition in both adult categories - male and female.

The second edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship took place on 19 January at the Mubadala Arena in the United Arab Emirates. Following its successful debut in November, the tournament returned with a dazzling light show and some memorable matches between the world's best jiu-jitsu fighters.

Excitement is building ahead of the highly anticipated second edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC 2), scheduled on 19 January at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. The main card features an exciting rematch between Ali Monfaradi and Talison in the cage. 

In preparation for the upcoming 2024 competition season, the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) has revealed a set of modifications to its rules, encompassing various aspects of the sport, the Jiu Jitsu Times reports. These changes primarily focus on pre- and post-match officiating, with two notable alterations set to impact the dynamics on the mats.

The 14th Iranian jiu jitsu national championship was held on December 22, 23 in Teheran. More than 500 athletes participated in four categories of two age groups - senior and U21.

H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, honoured the winners of the Mother of the Nation Jiu-Jitsu Cup in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The event, held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City over the weekend, saw top-ranked female athletes testing their skills against each other across multiple divisions, including Adult, Under-18, Under-16, and the newly introduced Under-14. 

The honorary chairman of Swedish Ju-Jitsu Association Hans Greger has passed away at 78 years old after a long period of illness.

The seventh edition of the Mother of the Nation Ju-Jitsu Cup is scheduled to be held at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City on December 16 and 17, boasting a prize pool of Dh 400,000. Female athletes from various clubs and academies across the nation are gearing up to compete in four categories: Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, and Over-18. 

The World International Brazilian Ju-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) No-Gi Championship 2023 took place in Las Vegas Convention Center from December 7-9. Thousands of athletes from 668 clubs took part in the championships in 4 categories - adult male, adult female, juvenile and masters. 

The Ju-Jitsu tournament was held in the Saudi Games 2023, on December 6. 

From November 23-26 the European Ju-Jitsu Championship was held in Croatia’s capital Zagreb. The European strongest competitors fought for 32 gold medals. Germany was the strongest team after the end of the championship with 6 gold medals. France was the leader in overall medals - 18, but they managed to claim only 3 gold medals. Israel and Slovenia won 4 gold medals, Sweden and Netherlands 3.

The Croatian capital is the epicenter of the European Ju-Jitsu Championship. Organized by the Croatian Jiu-Jitsu Association, the Championship is currently taking place at the sports hall of Doma Sportova.
