Taylor, who flew back from Ukraine on Monday evening, linked up with the rest of the squad this morning and came off the substitutes bench in the 75th minute at Turner's Cross.

She went close to scoring in the 86th minute before Stephanie Roche scored the winner less than 60 seconds later.

Taylor, who won her fourth consecutive European title in Nikalaev City on Sunday, has been a member of Ireland's football team for three years having previously played at under-17 and under-19 level.

Taylor made her international debut in 2006 when she played in three World Cup qualifying matches - against Russia, Switzerland, and the United States - and was voted payer of the mh in Ireland's 2-0 win over Switzerland .

But she has no doubts where her priorities lie in the build-up to London 2012, where she will be among the favourites for a gold medal when women's boxing makes its Olympic debut.

She said: "I love playing for Ireland, and I love soccer, but when it comes down to it I would choose boxing as my number one sport as I'd miss it too much if I wasn't involved."
