alt BRITISH JUDO ASSOCIATION (BJA) chairman Densign White (pictured) has been re-elected as a sports director of the European Judo Union (EJU), at the 60th EJU Congress held in Athens.

White will be one of three sports directors and will work alongside Daniel Lascau, the Romanian who will be head sports director, and Estonia's Indrek Pertelson.

Having already served four years as a Sport Director, White is delighted to be elected for a second term.

He said: "I am honoured that my European colleagues continue to have the belief and confidence in me to deliver within this important position”.

The BJA chairman will be leading the EJU’s Youth section, including overseeing the Cadet and Junior European Championships, an area that is close to his heart having been a Junior European medallist before going on to win senior European and World medals, and representing Britain at two Olympic Games.

White said: "I look forward to developing all areas under my Youth remit in order to continually improve the experience for younger competitors at a European level.

"I will also be contributing to the positive changes happening at an IJF (International Judo Federation) level and hope that ultimately this will help assist the development of the sport in Britain."
