altJULY 4 - THE British Show Jumping Association (BSJA) has appointed Di Cornish, a highly successful executive from the commercial world, to succeed Jacky Wood as chief executive.

 

Cornish, a leading owner and producer of top show jumpers will join the BSJA from September 1 and will take over fuly from Wood after an appropriate handover period.

 

Cornish has been a board member of FTSE 250 listed companies and has an extremely successful track record in personnel and recruitment services.

 

She was chief executive at Brook Street Bureau and then became executive chairman at Blue Arrow Ltd.

 

She is a passionate advocate of show jumping and for many years supported and worked closely with Britain's iconic show jumping star, Harvey Smith and then with his sons Robert and Steven.

 

Through her company Brook Street, she was one of the first people to provide major corporate sponsorship of the Horse of the Year Show.

 

In addition to her involvement with top show jumpers, Cornish has built up a very successful riding school and livery yard, is a former BSJA executive board member and committee member of the Horse of the Year Show.

 

Wood will be retiring at the end of this year after devoting over 40 years of her life to the sport.
