RedBull China_March_22March 22 - Badminton England and RedBull China are to stage a cultural celebration of badminton this summer, with an exclusive event taking place on August 6.


It will be taking place a day after the Olympic badminton competition concludes at Wembley Arena, and will see amateur badminton teams from northern and southern China compete in a play off to take on an English amateur side.

The selection of the Chinese sides will come after the RedBull Badminton Tournament, starting in China on April 7, that will see over 5,000 teams battlle it out for glory.

The English team will be the winners of the Premier A league.

Badminton England commercial director Fiona Young said: 'We are excited to be involved in organising this event with one of our newest partners, RedBull China.

"We will be using the competition as a great opportunity to encourage even more young people into badminton, ensuring that the sport continues to grow and develop."
