fencing time_13-10-11October 14 - American firm Fencing Time has been awarded a contract that sees it become the official tournament software provider for USA Fencing events beginning with the 2012-2013 season.

Founded by foil fencer Dan Berke, the company's software will manage pools and tables for all USA Fencing national events, including the National Championships, North American Cups and Junior Olympic Fencing Championships.

"I am excited about our new partnership with USA Fencing," Berke said.

"Together, we will take national tournaments to a new level of excellence.

"By harnessing the latest technology, tournament operations will be more efficient and effective which will provide the fencers, parents, coaches and spectators with the best tournament experience possible."

Used by tournaments of all sizes throughout the United States, Fencing Time software allows tournaments to run numerous individual and team events simultaneously.

The programme also updates USA Fencing rating levels and maintains event rosters, seed orders, results and score sheets.

"We reviewed a number of proposals and chose Fencing Time because the software is one of the best tournament programs in the world," said USA Fencing executive director Greg Dilworth.

"We're looking forward to working with Dan during the coming years as our tournaments continue to improve and we move towards being able to provide real-time results for fencing fans watching tournament results both on site and at home."
