The 15-strong GB team earned four gold medals, three silver, two bronze, one fifth-place and four seventh-place finishes to finish second in the medal table behind hosts Germany.

Sally Conway took gold in the -70kg category, while Karina Bryant followed up on her Miami World Cup triumph three weeks ago by topping the medal rostrum in the +78kg category.

Ashley McKenzie won the -60kg category, while Craig Fallon claimed gold at -66kg.

Silver medals went to 2011 European Championship bronze medallist Sophie Cox in the -57kg category and Sarah Clark after the Scot was unable to compete in the -63kg final due to injury.

Sarah Adlington also claimed silver after losing out to compatriot Bryant in the +78kg final.

2011 European Championship bronze medallist Colin Oates took bronze at -73kg, while Faith Pitman finished third in the -63kg field.

GB Head Coach Patrick Roux said: "We are pleased with the medals but this was a tournament to prepare players for the World Championships.

"The team is on a very positive pathway for Paris.

"It has been a long build up already from the Europeans and we achieved some high quality training blocks abroad.

"The Olympic group is training extremely professionally now and we are focused on one objective - London 2012."
