The_International_Conference_on_University_Sports_Movement_Sport._Education._Culture_10-06-11June 11 - Federation International du Sport Universitaire (FISU) Executive Committee members and officials are due to visit Kazan, as the regional capital of Russia's Tatarstan Republic hosts the International Conference on University Sports Movement Sport. Education. Culture ahead of the 2013 World University Games.


The conference, which takes place on June 16-19 at the Korston Hotel and Entertainment Complex, will focus on international and national university sports management, emerging global trends in university sports development, training for qualified sport specialists and educational projects.

The conference will bring together key figures in global sport, including presidents of national university sports federations, representatives of FISU Continental Associations, Government officials of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Olympic Committee, Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, and Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, as well as leading sports experts and renowned athletes.

The main session of the conference will see the attendance of FISU President George Killian, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, executive director of the Russian Olympic Committee Marat Bariev and President of the Russian Student Sports Union Oleg Matytsin.

They will discuss legal, organisational, administrative, economic and informational background of university sports development and cooperation between national, continental and international university sports organisations.

Another hot topic on the agenda will be the 2013 World University Games and there will be a tour of the sports venues and attendance of the Russian Universities Beach Volleyball Championship, the Shenzhen 2011 beach volleyball qualification tournament.

There will be a long-awaited presentation of the FISU International Education Centre, which will become an innovative training and consulting suite, catering for specialists in international university sports development, while providing consulting services in the implementation of major projects.

A cooperation agreement between the Russian Student Sports Union, FISU International Education Centre and European University Association will also be signed at the conference.
