AIBA logo(1)April 29 - The International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) has announced that it is looking for a new competition manager.


AIBA is a non-profit making international organisation with 196 member federations and requires a competition manager "to help boxing realise its potential within the Olympic Movement and the international sporting arena."

Reporting to the sports director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing AIBA's competition programme in cooperation with all stakeholders.

The competition manager will be responsible for technical and competition rules, the implementation and administration of the AIBA coaches management and judges management systems and coordinating with event Organising Committees.

They will also be in charge of the registration and accreditation processes, the AIBA database, the AIBA world ranking, seeding at AIBA controlled events and assisting the sports director in competition-related areas.

Candidates must be educated to university degree level - preferably in the fields of sport management, health or social sciences - have a sound knowledge and understanding of the international sports community, have a minimum of two years' experience of working in the event or sport industry and experience in policy development, project management, implementation and monitoring.

Excellent English verbal and written communication ability is required as is strong organisation, problem solving and interpersonal skills, as well as being able to communicate effectively at all levels.
