The second edition of the event for teams from the Americas and Pacific-Asia zone is scheduled for October 29 to November 4 at the Kelowna Curling Club in British Columbia.

The city has previously staged three World Championships, the women's event in 1986, the junior tournament in 2002 and the mixed competition in 2018.

"The excellent 12-sheet facility of the Kelowna Curling Club has successfully hosted our events in the past and would have been a great venue for our mixed doubles and seniors had they not been cancelled due to the pandemic," said World Curling Federation (WCF) head of competitions Eeva Roethlisberger.

"We are very much looking forward to being back in Kelowna and experiencing the great hospitality of the local organisers."

The event will qualify five teams to the World Women's and Men's Championships in 2024.

The World Mixed Curling Championship is due to take place from October 14 to 21 this year in Scotland following a partnership between Curl Aberdeen and the WCF.

The agreement sees the city host the next two editions in what is hoped to bring "hosting stability" to the event.

"We are thrilled to be hosting the World Mixed championship for the next two years," said Curl Aberdeen manager and 2014 Olympic silver medallist Tom Brewster.

"We have a great working relationship with the World Curling Federation forming another multi-year partnership was an easy decision for us.

"We want to build on the success of the events we’ve previously hosted. 

"The World Mixed Championship is a fun and social event.

"It gives many nations their first World Championship experience and we're happy to welcome the curling community into our club and to the city of Aberdeen and play our part in the development of the sport."
