Dusmatov and Romero started cautiously but the former turned on the style with a combination to the Cuban's face.

Romero responded with a strong blow from his side.

But the Uzbek star made more contact, winning the first round 5-0.

The three-time Asian champion came up with an answer to every punch thrown by Romero in round two, winning 5-0.

A 4-1 victory in the final round sealed the bout for the Uzbek star.

Belarusian World Championships silver medallist Aliaksei Alfiorau came out on top against Kirra Ruston of Australia in the light heavyweight category.

The 23-year-old was dictating the terms in the bout, throwing some heavy blows.

Alfiorau took the first two rounds 5-0 and started the third round aggressively.

He countered well and targeted the face of Ruston.

The Belarusian also made his Australian opponent move around the ring, while punching at the same time.

The technique worked brilliantly as he won 5-0 via unanimous decision.

Top seed Makhmud Sabyrkhan of Kazakhstan defeated Sachin Siwach of India in the bantamweight category.

The Asian and World Championships silver medallist started with a commination on the face and instantly shifts below the belt.

The Kazakh boxer got a 5-0 win in the first round.

The peek-a-boo from Sabyrkhan give him more angles to strike.

Siwach was not able to judge that, being  on the receiving end of multiple blows to the face.

But he managed to get some punches after all and seals a massive 3-2 win in the second round.

Siwach was defensive in the third round and countered well to give Sabyrkhan a bruise.

But the top seed doesn't look affected by it as he continues to land punches against the Indian

A combination to the face of Siwach ended round three, sealing a 5-0 unanimous decision victory.

The middleweight category saw top seed Salvatore Cavallaro of Italy knocked out by Pylyp Akilov of Hungary.

The World Championships bronze medallist lost the first two rounds.

Hungarian Akilov was following a defensive strategy and striking when it matters.

The peek-a-boo was on display again, as he countered brilliantly to secure 4-1 wins in the first two rounds.

Hungarian Akilov kept his calm again, dodging well, as Cavallaro was worn out in the third round.

Akilov bagged the third round as well, sealing a 5-0 unanimous decision victory for the Hungarian.

Competition is due to continue tomorrow with quarterfinals taking place.
