Kamal Javanmard has been named Iran's Chef de Mission for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games.

Javanmard is the managing director of Iran National Paralympic Committee (INPC).

He replaced Mohammad Tabe as INPC managing director this year and is set to serve a four-year term.

Before joining INPC, Javanmard was the general director of physical education and sports science at the Islamic Azad University.

He has almost 20 years of experience in sports governance.

At the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta and Palembang, sitting volleyball coach Hadi Rezaei was Iran's Chef de Mission.

Iran are fourth in the all-time Asian Para Games medals table.

So far, they have 115 gold, 118 silver and 103 bronze medals.

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games is scheduled to be held from October 22 to October 28.
