Beijing 2022 Paralympic champion Oksana Masters of the United States is among the six Paralympians nominated for the 2023 Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability Award.

New Zealand's Para swimmer and wheelchair rugby player Cameron Leslie, wheelchair racer Catherine Debrunner of Switzerland, Para ice hockey player Declan Farmer from the United Sates, Dutch wheelchair tennis star Diede De Groot and Norway's Para Alpine skier Jesper Saltvik Pedersen are the others nominated.

Masters became the most decorated Winter Paralympian from the US after winning seven medals at Beijing 2022.

Last year, the 33-year-old who is of Ukrainian descent also finished on the podium at the World Para Snow Sports Championships and Para Cycling Road World Championships, with eight medals, including four gold.

Leslie made it to the list after winning a gold and three silvers at the 2022 World Para Swimming Championships.

He also co-captained New Zealand at the 2022 Wheelchair Rugby World Championship, where his team reached the quarter-finals.

Marathon wins in Berlin and London, where she set a course record, was enough for Debrunner to make the cut.

The Swiss star also set four world records at her home venue in Nottwil, during a Grand Prix event.

With gold in Beijing, Farmer now has three Para ice hockey wins at the Winter Paralympics.

If that was not enough, the 25-year-old was the leading scorer on 18 points, including thee out of five in the final against Canada.

De Groot scripted history by becoming the first player to win calendar Grand Slams las year and was unbeaten in 38 singles matches in 2022.

Finally, Pedersen bagged four golds and one silver at Beijing 2022.

The Para Alpine skier was also the only athlete to win four gold medals at the Games.
