The Portugal National Olympic Committee (NOC) has welcomed more than 100 young athletes for its National Meeting of Olympic Hopes.

The two-day event, organised by the Portugal NOC, is designed to prepare young athletes for the Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

Patricia Mamona, a long jump silver medallist at Tokyo 2020, and Telma Monteiro, a judo bronze medallist at Rio 2016, shared their Olympic experiences with the young athletes as part of the event.

Mamona presented "the way to the podium in Tokyo 2020", alongside coach José Uva, while Monteiro participated in Olympic Conversations, presented by Marco Alves, director of the department of missions and Olympic preparation of the Portugal NOC.

On the first day of the National Meeting of Olympic Hopes athletes participated in activities related to Olympic education, integrity, nutrition, communication and the fight against doping.

Coaches participated in the Olympic Hopes seminar and the Evaluation and Control of Training workshop.

On the second day evaluation and training control tests were carried out for athletes in the laboratory at the Jamor High Performance Centre.

Athletes from 20 sports participated in the National Meeting of Olympic Hopes.
