Chiara Kreuzer of Austria won gold at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup in Hinzenbach.

The 2021 team normal hill world champion jumped 89 and 88.5 meters, scoring 235.6 points to take the title.

Her compatriot Eva Pinkelnig fell short by the thinnest of margins.

The two-time World Championships silver medallist scored 235.5 points after efforts of 87.5 and 90m respectively to settle for silver.

Bronze medal went to Nozomi Maruyama of Japan.

The 24-year-old jumped 91.5 and 90.5 metres was 0.8 points behind Kreuzer.

"I'm almost speechless, just happy!" said Kreuzer.

"I love this hill and the spectators supported us so well. Everything came together today, my two jumps were also very good."

The gold for Kreuzer was her seventh World Cup victory, but her first in more than three years making it extra special.

Ema Klinec of Slovenia was fourth, 0.9 points behind Kreuzer, making it one of the closest battle for the top positions in a women's Ski Jumping World Cup.

Another Slovenian in Nika Prevc finished in fifth place, 4.6 points behind the leader.

Despite silver, Pinkelnig is still leading the overall standings with 1322 points.

Katharina Althaus of Germany, who finished sixth in Hinzenbach, is second overall with 1093 points.

Klinec completes the top-three overall with 885 points.
