A day after helping Britain win team pursuit gold, the 28-year-old cruised through all four rounds of the omnium winning the scratch, tempo, and elimination races before topping it off with a triumph in the points race.

She finished with a winning margin of 31 points over Daria Pikulik of Poland on 155 while Lotte Kopecky of Belgium came third.

Kopecky finished with 124 points, the same total as Pikulik, but was behind her in the points race which relegated her to bronze.

"I've got five really big targets between now and the [Paris 2024] Games - that's one way to look at it but the other is that it's a European title and that's something I'm always happy with," Archibald said.

"I was pretty nervous.

"The scratch race didn't settle me like it normally does, especially if you get a win you come off feeling confident, but I thought I'd gone too hard.

"It turns out everyone else went hard as well."

It was a good day all round for Britain as they moved to the top of the medals table with eight golds.

Oliver Wood claimed his 10^th European medal but first gold with a clinical attack in the scratch race.

The 27-year-old surged around the outside of the pack as the bell sounded to mark the final lap and held his lead to the line.

His team pursuit squad team-mate Daniel Bigham was unable to prevail in the men's individual pursuit as he squandered his lead to Jonathan Milan of Italy in the final kilometre.

Germany's Tobias Buck-Gramcko rounded out the top three to take bronze.
