Plans for next year’s European Universities Games were on show at the recent International Education Exhibition in Hungarian capital Budapest.

More than 5,000 athletes from 40 countries and 450 universities are due to compete across the two cities of Debrecen and Miskolc in Hungary.

Promotional stands were located at the three-day International Education Exhibition in a bid to showcase the Games among student-athletes.

The European University Sports Association said that around 10,000 people visited the event over the first two days, with the 2024 European Universities Games stand attracting plenty of interest.

Table tennis, mini football and basketball were among the sporting activities offered at the Debrecen-Miskolc 2024 stand.

Those arriving at the stands were also given a "Sports Passport", which listed the activities and stations where they could collect stamps in exchange for an activity.

The sports simulation division of the Hungarian E-Sports Association organised events to satisfy video gamers.

Representatives of the Hungarian University Sports Federation held a round table discussion on the closing day of the exhibition.

Among the topics of the discussion were learning through sports, the next step after a sports career, and the situation of elite sports in the wider world, in addition to upcoming domestic, European and international events.
