The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) is set to name its Chef de Mission, chief executive, general team manager and chief medical officer on Monday (January 30) for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

A two-hour consultative meeting with representatives from 21 National Federations was held to discuss the 2023 sporting calendar which features the African Youth Games, Commonwealth Youth Games, Africa Beach Games, World Beach Games and qualification events for the Olympics.

The meeting also informed members that the management team for the Games would be announced on Monday, as reported by Capital FM in Kenya.

Preparations for the Games is one of their key priorities, according to NOCK secretary general Francis Mutuku.

"We have asked federations for their continental and international ranking, looked at their roadmap towards Paris 2024, their previous performance at the Games and how we can improve on team Kenya's performance," said Mutuku.

NOCK treasurer Eliud Kariuki spoke about finances heading towards Paris, with an emphasise on the cost of travelling for qualification tournaments.

Shadrack Maluki, the first Deputy President, presided over the meeting in the absence of NOCK President Paul Tergat, who was in Uganda with the Refugee Olympic Team set for the Olympics.

One of the Refugee Olympic Team's training bases will be in Kenya, heading into Paris.
