The SNOC list for the 2023 SEA Games currently has 517 athletes but the number of athletes is expected to be confirmed closer to the Games.

The SNOC Selection Committee, chaired by its President Tan Chuan-Jin, made the decision after consulting with the National Sports Associations.

"My heartiest congratulations to all athletes selected to represent Singapore," SNOC vice-president and International Olympic Committee member Ng Ser Miang said.

"Good luck in Cambodia, we will be cheering for you."

Rio 2016 swimming champion Joseph Schooling, sprinter Shanti Pereira and badminton star Loh Kean Yew, who is currently participating in the India Open, are among the athletes who have made the cut.

Those who have not made the list yet have until February to meet the qualifying criteria.

The Hanoi 2021 Southeast Asian Games saw Singapore send 424 athletes.

Singapore finished fifth on the medals table in Vietnam, bagging 166 medals in total.

It will be the first time for Cambodia to host the 11-nation regional sports fest in its 64-year history dating back to 1959.

Cambodia is set to host the 32nd edition of the SEA Games from May 5 to May 17.

The country is set to stage the multi-sports event for the first time.
