Daniel Tschofenig ranked second and first on the his round of jumps with efforts of 91.8 metres and 91.9m on the Wielka Krokiew large hill, which merited 151.5 and 148.9 points respectively.

That was followed by Michael Hayböck, who matched Tschofenig's rankings with 92.7m and 92.0m jumps that scored 141.9 and 148.1.

In the third group, Manuel Fettner's jumps of 92.3m and 91.7m ranked him third on both, and added 280.3 points to Austria's tally.

Final Austrian jumper Stefan Kraft placed fourth and fifth with his 91.0m and 91.7m jumps, helping his team to finish on 1151.5.

"That was a really cool competition for us, the atmosphere in Zakopane is always extremely good," Kraft said.

"The fight with the teams from Poland and Germany was really hard today and we are overjoyed that we managed to win in the end."

Men's World Cup leader Dawid Kubacki took the final group for Poland, and top scored on the first jump with 156.3 points from a 91.0m effort.

He placed third on his second jump of 91.7m with 149.7, but the host national ultimately fell one point short of Austria with their tally of 1150.5.

Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła and Paweł Wąsek were the other jumpers in the Polish team.

Germany ranked third in the team competition with 1144.4 points from Markus Eisenbichler, Phlipp Raimund, Karl Geiger and Andreas Wellinger.

An individual large hill event is due to be held in Zakopane tomorrow.
