Poland's Dawid Kubacki has improved his lead at the top of the men's International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup standings, with a win on the second day of competition in Engelberg - backing up a second-place finish yesterday in Switzerland.

Day one saw Slovenian Anže Lanišek win his third gold medal of the season and fourth of his career with a total of 320.3 points.

Kubacki was second on 317.0 and his teammate Piotr Żyła took bronze with a score of 312.3.

Austrian Stefan Kraft and Halvor Egner Granerud from Norway completed the top five with scores also above 300.

On the second day of action, Kubacki was the clear leader after the first jump, followed by Austria's Manuel Fettner, Żyła and Kraft.

A safer second attempt saw the Pole secure the win with a total of 300.4, while Fettner was able to get another second-place finish to bag the silver with a score of 297.2.

Lanišek recovered from a disappointing first jump to record the best second one, finishing just ahead of Granerud for the bronze.

Żyła and Kraft placed fifth and sixth.

The next leg of the men's World Cup is set to take place in Oberstdorf on December 29 - the first leg of the Four Hills Tournament.
