The 32-year-old told People magazine in the last week that she is seven months pregnant, expecting with Canadian snowboarded Tyler Nicholson, her fiancé.

"I am so grateful," Anderson said.

"It's been a really great pregnancy."

Per People, Anderson is eyeing a return to competitive snowboarding in late 2023 and then a fourth Olympic appearance at Milan Cortina 2026.

Anderson won women's snowboard slopestyle gold for the United States when the discipline made its debut at Sochi 2014.

Four years later, Anderson repeated as Olympic slopestyle champion and also left Pyeongchang with a big air silver medal.

Anderson competed in both disciplines at Beijing 2022 but did not win a medal.

On top of the Olympic honours, Anderson has won 21 X Games medals - eight of them gold.

Seven of the gold medals have come in slopestyle, the most recent in 2021 when Anderson also won the big air.

Anderson additionally won a slopestyle silver medal at last year's International Ski and Snowboard Federation World Championships.
