The International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) has confirmed that Marius Vizer Jr has stepped down as the general secretary of the governing body.

FITEQ thanked Vizer, who is seeking a new challenge, for his contributions towards the sport.

FITEQ was established in 2017 and Vizer has served as its general secretary since then.

"I am grateful to the founders and executive board of Teqball, as well as all the National Federations for their collaboration during these past five years," Vizer said.

"It has been an honour to have their trust and work together for growing Teqball into the global sport phenomenon it has become today.

"I will always have Teq in my heart and look forward to its continued success!

"Following this experience, I am ready to continue working in Sport and the Olympic Movement, its promotion and growth."

FITEQ currently has 151 National Federations.

It hosted its latest World Championships last month in Nuremberg.

FITEQ President Gábor Borsányi, vice-president György Gattyán and chairman Viktor Huszár said they were "grateful" to Vizer for the role he has played so far in a joint statement.

"We are extremely grateful to Marius for his dedication and commitment to Teqball and the way he has forged strong relationships in the sports industry to help advance our sport," the statement said.

"We are sorry to see him go but wish him the very best   in his future endeavours.

"Once a Teqer, always a Teqer: he has created a sporting legacy by making Teqball the world’s fastest ever recognised sport.

"We are very proud of Marius Vizer Jr."

The Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games is set to have teqball as part of its sports programme.

Teqball is also set to feature on the sports programme at the Sanya 2023 Asian Beach Games, was a demonstration sport at the first African Beach Games in 2019 and is due to be demonstartyed at next year's Southeast Asian Games.
