Israel has been awarded the rights to host the European Sambo Championships next year.

The decision was confirmed at the European Sambo Federation (EFS) Congress, with a combined junior event planned simultaneously .

The continental event is scheduled to be held in the city of Rishon Lezion from April 24 to 30.

Israeli Sambo Federation vice-president Pavel Musin gave a presentation on holding the event during the Congress.

Meanwhile, EFS President Sergey Eliseev discussed the International Federation’s activities for 2021-2022.

The EFS calendar for 2023 was also approved.

A seminar to train competition secretaries was also confirmed for next year.

Egypt will be hosting the 2023 World Sambo Championships, with the Dominican Republic set to hold the beach version of the event.

This year, the World Beach Sambo Championships was held in Bat Yam.

Russian athletes competed under the International Sambo Federation flag in Bat Yam due to the invasion of Ukraine.
