The Organising Committee of the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games has launched a new online education platform as part of its legacy programme.

It says the programme looks to "strengthen the inclusive, diverse and sustainable training of teachers, children and adolescents from different regions of the country", while integrating education into sport.

There are four modules in the programme, with the first an introduction into the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games.

Others that follow cover the areas of sport and sustainable development, sport and social inclusion, as well as sport and culture.

This platform has been developed in collaboration with the Education and Sports Ministries, regional Governments of Chile, municipalities, higher education institutions and social organisations.

It will show sport can be used to teach about sustainable development, it will publicise Pan American sport and look to grow its reach through its programmes to teachers and children.

The Santiago 2023 Pan American Games are scheduled to take place from October 20 to November 5 2023, followed by the Parapan American Games from November 17 to 25.
