Their trio of Dimitri Dutendas, Emilien Chassat and Michael Dhalluin outscored Switzerland’s Pascal Bachmann, Sandro Greuter and Gilles Dufaux 16-10 in the final.

Bronze went to Alexander Schmirl, Patrick Diem and Bernhard Pickl of Austria, who secured a 17-9 win over Finland’s Aleksi Leppa, Juho Autio and Sebastian Langstrom.

Elsewhere today at the International Shooting Sport Federation's flagship event Norway earned a place in tomorrow’s final of the 300m rifle three positions women’s team competition.

Their trio of Jeanette Duestad, who finished fourth in the women’s 10m air rifle at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Jenny Vatne and Katrine Lund were top qualifiers and will contest gold with Swiss trio Sarina Hitz, Silvia Guignard Schnyder and Anji Senti.

The bronze medal will be contested by Germany’s Lisa Mueller, Veronique Muenster and Anna-Lena Geuther, who will face the Polish trio of Karolina Kowalczyk, Sylwia Bogacka and Paula Wronska.

The Championships are due to conclude on Thursday (October 27).
