The second edition of the iQFOiL World Championships is set to begin in Brest in France tomorrow.

A total of 266 sailors from 45 countries are set to be competing for titles at the 2022 iQFOiL World Championships.

France was the dominant nation when Silvaplana in Switzerland hosted the first edition last year.

Nicolas Goyard of France won the men’s title while compatriot Helene Noesmoen is the defending champion in the women’s event.

Britain also had a great outing in Switzerland, nagging three medals in the senior category.

A big name who will not be in action in Brest is Kiran Badloe.

The Dutchman, who bagged the men's RS:X gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, decided to sit out due to injury.

"Unfortunately I'm not competing here due to an injury," Badloe said.

"It's nothing major, but I am feeling sad to miss out on the worlds.

"I will be back soon and hope for some good fights next year.

"I wish the best of luck to the rest of the Dutch team, and hopefully, everyone will have a good time in Brest with plenty of racing."

The event is set to conclude on October 22.

The iQFOiL discipline is set to make its Olympic debut at Paris 2024.
