World champion Andrea Herzog was among the winners on the final day of Canoe Slalom World Cup action this season, triumphing in the women's C1 event at La Seu d'Urgell.

The German completed the course in 1min 43.25sec, including one penalty, to pip Czech paddler Gabriela Satková by 0.06sec.

The Czech Republic's Tereza Fišerová was third in 1:46.15, boosted by a clean final run.

Finishing third helped Fišerová win the overall C1 title, with 251 points to Mallory Franklin's 234.

British athlete Franklin was eliminated in the semi-final today.

"It was not an easy course, it was pretty tricky," was Herzog's verdict.

Nicolas Gestin picked up his second victory of the season in the men's C1 and vaulted to the top of the overall leaderboard in the process.

The Frenchman had a clean run and completed the course in 1:33.37, defeating Miquel Trave of Spain by 0.09sec.

Trave was made to pay for picking up a two-second penalty, likewise Slovenia's Luka Božič, who was third.

Božič had led the season standings when the paddlers arrived at the Spanish venue, but dropped to second behind Gestin.

There was joy for Franklin in the extreme kayak event later.

Franklin crossed the line first in the women's final, with Elena Lilik from Germany second and Spain's Olatz Arregui third.

The victory meant Franklin also led the overall season standings.

Czech Vojtěch Heger won the men's race and likewise the overall extreme kayak title.

Manuel Ochoa from Spain and Theo Desvignes from France were second and third, in that order.
