The Indian team featuring Chingakham Jetlee Singh, Sunil Kumar, Udaivir Singh, and Sathasivan Nirmala Siva Magesh won the gold medal in the men’s epee team event at the 2022 Commonwealth Fencing Championships in London.

They beat Scotland’s Jamie Firth, Claum Johnston, Alexander Papadopoulous, and Jonathan Woollard 45-44 in the final.

England and Wales settled for bronze.

The hosts however ensured a team gold as they clinched the women’s foil event.  

Kate Beardmore, Georgia Silk, Amelie Tsang, and Teagan Williams-Steward beat the Scottish quartet of Sarah Barrett, Chloe Dickson, Mhairi McLaughlin and Katie Smith  45-34.

Teams from Australia and Canada received bronze medals.

The final team event of the day saw Australia emerge victorious.

Gaia Hardge, Thi Hai Yen Nguyen, Veronika Vasileva, and Yelin Zou got the better of England’s Tamara Carnac, Ella Nightingale, Sophia Potter and Ellen Wilkinson Robbins 45-38 in the final.

India beat Scotland to win bronze.

England got one more gold today in the men’s wheelchair epee event.

Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Dimitri Coutya struck gold by beating India’s Raghavendra in the final.   

Devendra Kumar of India and Rashid Shah of England clinched bronze.

Wales got their only fold of the day in the women’s wheelchair foil contest.

Gemma Collis beat India’s Malti 15-4 to take gold before England’s Emily Holder and India’s Rekha Tanwar got bronze.
