Natsuki Tanii of Japan and Jesse Grupper from United States have finished top of women's and men's semi-finals in the lead discipline, prior to the finals at the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup in Briançon.

Tanii had the highest women's score with a best of 43+, just in front of Slovenian Janja Garnbret on 43.

Seo Chae-hyun of South Korea finished third on 42+, with a large gap back to Laura Rogora of Italy and American Natalia Grossman on 39+.

Reaching 38+, Brooke Raboutou of the United States and Slovenian Vita Lukan were well clear of Ryu Nakagawa of Japan, compatriot Lucka Rakovec and Hannah Meul of Germany, who all reached 35+, making the top 10.

Grupper and Luka Potocar of Slovenia reached the top in the men's semi-finals to qualify for the final, in front of Taisei Homma of Japan who finished in third on 44 points.

The pair were clear of Alexander Megos and Yannick Flohé of Germany in fourth and fifth respectively on 41+.

In fact, nine made the final, with the rest of the field making 41+.

These other qualifiers were American Colin Duffy, Filip Schenk of Italy, Germany's Sebastian Halenke, Britain's Hamish McArthur and Yoshiyuki Ogata from Japan.
