Carli Elizabeth Cronk and Matthew Klotz first stood at the top of the podium for the women’s 400 metres freestyle and the men’s 50m freestyle events.

Julia Dragan of Poland and Noemi Canine of Italy were awarded for silver and bronze, respectively, for finishing after Cronk while Klotz touched the wall faster than Ukraine’s Illia Sultanov and Germany’s Kochmann Lars.

The two Americans also teamed up with compatriots Daniel Pletenets and Brooke Thompson to take the 4x100m mixed medley relay title.

Ukrainian quadruplet Vladyslav Khemliakov, Olesksii Kolomiiets, Anita Makhnyk and Iryna Tereshchenko acquired the silver medal and the Polish team of Juliusz Sawka, Julia Chellyyska, Konrad Powroznik and Juli Dragan picked up bronze.

Italy also experienced success in swimming thanks to the efforts of gold medallists Maragno Sara and Tamborrino Federico.

Sara achieved her success in the women’s 50m butterfly after beating Ukrainian pair Daria Tarasenko and Iryna Tereshenko.

Federico was too quick for Collin Addison Davis of the US and Niklas Müller of Germany in the men’s 800m freestyle.

The final swimming gold was handed to Powroznik after he notched in front of Argentina’s Emanuel Llanos and Ukraine’s Rostyslav Yakubovskyi.

Several countries shared success in the athletics with Japan, Lithuania and Ukraine all earning a one-two.

Japanese hammer throwers Takamasa Ishida and Masatoshi Morimoto secured gold and silver as Turkey’s Muhammed Çakır won bronze.

Vytenis Ivaskevicius of Lithuania finished top of the podium in the men’s shot put and Mindaugas Jurksa was not far off his compatriot in second.

Poland’s Oskar Kokoszewski completed the top three.

Ukrainian pair Kristina Kiniaikina and Solomiia Kuprych concluded the women’s 400m as the champion and runner-up.

Kenya’s Linet Fwamba finished third.

Colombia’s Diego Álvarez achieved gold in the men’s 400m after beating Christopher Melenciano Reyes of the Dominican Republic and Oskar Gołębiowski of Poland.

Ian Wambui handed Kenya a gold medal in the men’s 1500m.

Jaime Martinez Morga of Spain and Alexander Bley of Germany obtained the silver and bronze medals.

Tanel Visnap of Estonia achieved gold in the men’s long jump, defeating Slovakia’s Rastislav Jelínek and South Korea’s Seung Jeong.

Inna Afronchenko displayed the full range of her shooting skills as she secured golds at the Clube Caxiense club Hunting and Shooting venue.

The Ukrainian initially consolidated herself top of the women’s 25m pistol event after scoring 37 points, eclipsing South Korea’s Jiwon Chun in second by two points and Ya-Ju Kao of Chinese Taipei in third by 12 points.

Ukraine enjoyed more success in the table tennis events.

Julia Khodko and Marriia Vasylieva out-performed Karyna Zavinovska and Roksolana Budnyk in an all-Ukrainian women’s double final.

South Korean pair Ji Yeun Lee and Yunja Mo and Japanese duo Riho Kamezawa and Mizue Kawasaki won the bronze medals.

Ukraine had to settle for silver in the men’s doubles after Seuk Oh and Changjoon Lee of South Korea defeated Grygorii Kuzmenko and Anton Aliiev.

Maksym Ovcharenko and Gennadii Zakladnyi also handed Ukraine a bronze while South Korea’s Cheolijn Shin and Jongkuk Kim obtained the other bronze.

Turkey continued their fine form in the women’s volleyball with a 2-0 win over Poland.

This was their third win of the preliminary round and they have progressed as Group B winners.

Italy defeated the US 3-0 in a battle of the 2017 silver and bronze medallists.

Ukraine remains on top of the overall medal table with 42 golds.

The US has climbed to 17 golds while Japan are third on 11.
