The Paris Premier Padel Major is scheduled to be held from July 11 to 17.

The Italy Premier Padel Major, which is supported by Italian Government sports agency Sport e Salute, is expected to take place earlier with the event due to take place between May 23 and 29 at the historic Foro Italico.

The qualifiers for the event in Rome are anticipated to be completed just before the main draw starts.

According to data from the Padel National Observatory, Italy’s padel grassroots has increased five-fold since early 2020 based off the measurement of the number of padel courts.

The number of padel schools and clubs have also tripled.

"This is an incredibly exciting and special moment for padel in Italy," said Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation.

"Thanks to the excellent work by sports institutions, clubs and players (both amateur and professional), our sport has grown enormously over the last five years - and it gives me great pleasure that we’ve been able to bring a Premier Padel Major to Italy.

"I can confidently say that fans in Rome, and the millions watching around the world, will be treated to some world class Premier Padel action at the Foro Italico next month."

The FFT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Premier Padel as it seeks to further the sport’s development at all levels in France.

It is thought that over 280,000 players participate in padel in the European country.

"It’s an honour to be the first European country to offer the world’s best players a ‘Major’ padel event," said FFT President Gilles Moretton.

"The FFT is proud to write padel history by teaming up with FIP and Premier Padel to organise the Paris Premier Padel Major at Stade Roland-Garros.

"This will propel padel to a new dimension and boost the French fervour for that discipline, which the FFT is supporting through a multi-lever development plan."

Premier Padel is due to host at least 10 new tournaments this year, including four Major events, and 25 tournament across all categories in five continents.

The Ooredoo Qatar Major in Doha was held in March and the Mexico Premier Padel Major at the Club Sonoma en Monterrey is scheduled to begin on November 28 and end on December 4.

The Rome and Paris events are expected to see competitors fighting for 2,000 ranking points and a record-breaking prize fund.

The two Majors are planned to showcase the high standard of padel athletes.

The Argentina Premier Padel P1 has also recently been announced as the first scheduled category two tournament, and is due to take place between August 8 and 14.

The Premier Pro is supported by the Professional Padel Association (PPA) and the Qatari state-backed Qatar Sports Investments.
