The Badminton World Federation (BWF) Thomas and Uber Cup Finals draw has been revealed with Thomas Cup champions Indonesia in an all Asia group as they prepare to defend the title next month.

The 14-time champions were drawn in Group A of the men's Thomas Cup along with South Korea, hosts Thailand and Singapore.

China are scheduled to face 2016 champions Denmark, France and Algeria in Group B, while Group C features Chinese Taipei, India, Germany and Canada.

Group D is set to comprise Japan, Malaysia, England and New Zealand.

In the women's Uber Cup, Group A features 2018 champions Japan, who lost to China last year, Indonesia, France and Germany.

China will encounter rivals Chinese Taipei, Spain and Australia in Group B.

In Group C are hosts Thailand, Denmark, Malaysia and Egypt, while Group D sees 2010 champions South Korea alongside India, Canada and the United States.

The biennial international badminton championship is due to be held in Thailand’s capital Bangkok for the second time in four years from May 8 to 15.

"I’m thrilled that we are in Bangkok four years after we last hosted the World Team Championships," BWF President Poul-Erik Hoyer said.

"The TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals represent the pinnacle of men’s and women’s team competitions.

"There’s a lot at stake as the top teams in the world face off against each other.

"Thank you to Badminton Association of Thailand and all the Thai authorities for enabling the hosting of this time-honoured event."

The draw was conducted in the host city of Bangkok by the BWF in the presence of host officials and sponsors.
