Bogdan Gabrovec, President of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia Association of Sports Federations, and Slovenian Teqball Association President Željko Gabrovec were met by FITEQ President Gábor Borsányi and general secretary Marius Vizer Jr.

"We were very happy to welcome a delegation of Slovenian sports leaders to our headquarters during such an exciting and fast-moving time for our sport," said Borsányi.

"Teqball is making steady progress in Slovenia and we are in a strong position to build on this in 2022 and beyond.

"Our special thanks goes to National Olympic Committee President Gabrovec for his belief in teqball’s ability to contribute to more active, more inclusive, and more united communities."

The visit began with a demonstration led by teqball instructors before developmental discussions began.

Teqball is set to feature as a medal sport at the 2023 European Games in Kraków and Małopolska in Poland.

As a result, the two parties spoke about programmes which can be implemented to assist the country's top players in the build-up to the event.

FITEQ is focused on introducing the sport to youth and suggested that teqball could be brought into Slovenian schools to help encourage activity among children.

Strategies on how local clubs can provide additional opportunities, especially for women and Para athletes, were also examined.

Teqball has been called the fastest-growing sport in the world and has featured in several multi-sport events such as the African Beach Games.

It is also set to appear at the 2023 Indian Ocean Island Games, and be a demonstration event at the next Asian Beach Games.
