Karl Geiger won for a second time this weekend at Titisee-Neustadt to extend his lead at the top of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup standings over Japanese jumper Ryōyū Kobayashi.

Winning in his home nation, Geiger put in a strong second performance to claim gold with a total score of 282.7 points, 2.2 in front of Anže Lanišek of Slovenia.

The pair were far in front of the second German, Markus Eisenbichler, who was also comfortably third.

Kobayashi was fourth, losing more ground to Geiger in the overall standings, with the gap now at 61 points.

Jan Hörl of Austria was fifth, in front of Timi Zajc of Slovenia and Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud, the defending World Cup champion.

Peter Prevc of Slovenia, Austrian Stefan Kraft and Germany's Stephan Leyhe completed the top 10.

Granerud is third overall in the season's standings, followed by compatriot Marius Lindvik and Lanišek further back.

Missing this week because of positive COVID-19 tests were a trio of Norwegians - Johann André Forfang, Daniel-André Tande and Fredrik Villumstad - as well as Germany's Andreas Wellinger.

The final leg of the Ski Jumping World Cup before the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games is scheduled for January 29 and 30 in Willingen.
