The third of four Italian stops on the men’s Alpine Ski World Cup will see slalom skiers seek victory at Madonna di Campiglio.

Skiers head to the venue following super-G and downhill races at Val Gardena, as well as back-to-back giant slalom competitions in Alta Badia.

Only one race will be contested at Madonna di Campiglio, with slalom skiers taking to the Canalone Miramonti slope tomorrow.

It will be the second men’s slalom event of the season.

France’s Clément Noël will hope for further success having won the first event of the season in Val d'Isère, placing him top of the discipline standings.

Noël achieved a podium finish at the traditional night event two years ago, where he placed third.

Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen was second on that occasion, but claimed victory during last year’s event.

Kristoffersen led a Norwegian one-two, with Sebastian Foss-Solevaag and Italy’s Alex Vinatzer achieving podium finishes.

Kristoffersen heads into the event fresh from winning the first giant slalom race in Alta Badia on Sunday (December 19).

Tomorrow’s competition will be followed by a short break in the season before competition in Bormio starts on December 28.

One downhill race will be contested in Bormio, followed by two super-G races to round off 2021.
