Austria’s Marita Kramer comfortably led qualification at the International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup in Ramsau as her early season dominance continued.

Kramer is seeking a fifth win in seven events this season, with the 20-year-old entering the home competition fresh from a hat-trick of triumphs.

She achieved a distance of 94 metres with her jump in qualification.

Kramer was awarded a score of 141.8 points for the effort, placing her clear at the top of the standings.

Olympic bronze medallist Sara Takanashi impressed on the normal hill at the W90-Mattensprunganlage venue.

The Japanese star jumped 91m to secure a total of 133.9 points in qualification.

Takanashi finished second on the leaderboard, some way adrift of Kramer.

Slovenia’s Ursa Bogataj and Nika Kriznar completed the top four, scoring 126.3 and 124.6 points, respectively.

The World Cup competition will take place tomorrow.

The men’s World Cup season is also set to continue, with qualification taking place at Gross-Titlis-Schanze in Engelberg tomorrow.

Back-to-back events are due to be held at the Swiss venue this weekend.

Germany’s Karl Geiger will aim to retain his World Cup lead after one win and two further podium finishes this season.

Japan’s Ryōyū Kobayashi is second in the World Cup standings after winning the seventh event in Klingenthal.
