The Chilean Olympic Committee (COCH) has welcomed approval of its COVID-19 countermeasures by the nation’s Ministry of Health.

The COCH has been presented with a "COVID-19 seal", which certifies their compliance with requirements established by the ministry.

The certification was presented by representatives from the Chilean Security Association (ACHS) at a meeting at the COCH’s Olympic Training Centre in Nunoa.

Carla Carrasco, ACHS head of commercial management and preventative services, Guisela Salgado, preferential prevention expert, and Ivana Figueredo, ACHS commercial executive, were present at the meeting.

The award was given to COCH President Miguel Ángel Mujica.

"For us as the Chilean Olympic Committee, it is very gratifying to receive this seal from the Chilean Security Agency," said Miguel Ángel Mujica.

"The administration of our training centres are very complex, since it combines elements of traditional management with the logistics and specific operations of training and sports, in its most diverse disciplines.

"We appreciate the collaboration of our federations, athletes and coaches to be able to comply with these standards."

Measures taken by the COCH include delivery of personal protection elements to people within the organisation who are undertaking face-to-face work, along with the installation of gel alcohol devices, temperature measurements and sanitised foot cleaners.

The COCH had also installed risk prevention and COVID-19 signage throughout the organisation’s premises, as well as putting acrylic protection screens in reception and staff areas.

The organisation’s leadership also conducted regular meetings with its COVID-19 committee to assess and update internal regulations.

The COCH also verified external companies associated with the organisation to ensure their compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
