French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG) President Nathalie Péchalat has been names France's Chef de Mission for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Jean Minier, sports director of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF), will be Chef de Mission for the Paralympics.

Péchalat is a two-time World Championship medallist, double European champion, and appeared at three Winter Olympics as an athlete.

A fourth-place finish in the ice dancing at Pyeongchang 2014 was Péchalat's best result, achieved with Fabian Bourzat.

Péchalat has led the FFSG since Match 2020 and French National Olympic and Sports Committee President Brigitte Henriques welcomed her appointment.

"With 123 days before the Beijing Olympic Games, the CNOSF teams are fully focused on preparing for these Games," Henriques said.

"They are going to be special, just like Tokyo, and we have the experience and the expertise of this summer to lead, in the best conditions, the Olympic athletes on their way to Beijing 2022.

"I am happy to have entrusted the role of Chef de Mission to Nathalie Péchalat, I have full confidence in her to make France shine.

"I wish our athletes great success, of whom we will be fervent supporters."

France won five gold medals at Pyeongchang 2018 - the country's best Winter Olympic performance to date.
